David Hasenzahl

President and CEO

David Hasenzahl has been involved with commercial design and real estate development within the construction industry for over 30 years.   He graduated with a BA and Business Degree from Southern Methodist University (SMU), and then received his Master’s Degree in MCM Construction Engineering and Management from University of Southern California (USC).  After initially working for several large, some nationally known, construction companies (Tellepsen Corporation, Morrison Knudsen, and Morley Builders) Mr. Hasenzahl founded his own company, Hasen Design Build & Development, in Fort Worth, Texas in 2005.  Hasen is certified by the Design Build Institute of America (“DBIA”), and David has served as a DBIA Board Member for the Southwest Region.   Mr. Hasenzahl has experience performing design-build  and real estate development work for both the public and the private sector. Through Hasen, Mr. Hasenzahl has managed commercial construction and development projects of all sizes and complexity in both the private and public sector – including complex commercial, institutional, multi-family, mixed-use development, health care systems, water treatment facilities, light industrial projects, military facilities, international US government projects, and historic preservation and restoration.

Mr. Hasenzahl founded his second company, Hasen Global in 2014.  This entity oversees specialized development, design, and construction for primary clients within the US Government from Washington DC to remote regions around the world.  Hasen Global has worked in and around 17 Intelligence Agencies, and in locations that serve as headquarters for highly classified military agencies, government institutions, and operations in the Federal sector.

Prior to 2005 Mr. Hasenzahl owned and operated a large commercial concrete construction company based out of Austin TX building large institutional buildings such as hospitals, schools, parking garages, and state facilities.

Anthony I. Garza, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

Anthony I. Garza brings a wealth of expertise and a high caliber of professional acumen to the financial helm of the company. A licensed CPA and CGMA, he holds an MBA with a focus on Finance and Management, and a BBA specialized in Accounting. With a rich background encompassing over 15 years across audit, financial reporting, and executive leadership, Anthony epitomizes excellence in cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and strategic financial management. His expertise extends through the intricacies of GAAP, GAAS, SOX 404, and SEC regulations, adeptly handling financial statement analysis and preparation for both private and public entities, alongside managing legal and environmental risk. Anthony’s pre-Hasen tenure is marked by significant leadership roles, including CFO of an industrial refrigeration construction and service company generating $25M in revenue and steering over 100 employees, as well as VP of Finance and Administration for a heavy industrial construction firm with revenues of $2S0M and a workforce exceeding 1,000. At the vanguard of finance, accounting, and IT at Hasen, Anthony is a paragon of integrity and transparency, championing a proactive and optimistic outlook. His leadership not only drives strategic success within the company but also sets a benchmark for industry standards in financial stewardship.

Paul Witt

Senior Vice President

Paul Witt is a dynamic and result-focused executive with an extensive background in all facets of construction and real estate development. Boasting over 2S years of comprehensive experience, Paul has a diverse portfolio that showcases his capability to lead projects to successful completion, adhering strictly to timelines and budget constraints. His reputation as a highly qualified leader is built on a foundation of superior work ethic and deep expertise in multi-family and commercial construction sectors. Paul’s proficiency spans the entire project management lifecycle, from preconstruction planning, scheduling, and budgeting to estimating, contract negotiation, value engineering, thorough production oversight and project closeout. He has efficiently managed construction projects totaling over $1.S billion, from their inception to handover, demonstrating a commitment to efficiency and goal-oriented leadership. Paul’s expertise extends to sustainable building practices, having worked on LEED-accredited projects and served on the USGBC Board for Residential Construction in Florida, underscoring his dedication to environmental stewardship in construction. A proud alumnus of the University of Florida, Paul honed his skills at the prestigious Rinker School of Building and Construction, where he laid the groundwork for his illustrious career in the construction industry.

Patrick McKeen, P.E.

Director of Preconstruction

Patrick McKeen, a distinguished former United States Navy Surface Warfare Officer, is the Director of Preconstruction at Hasen. He boasts a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Norwich University, The Military College of Vermont, and holds licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.). With an impressive 29 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry, Patrick has developed expertise in strategic planning, design oversight, and the full spectrum of pricing from conceptual to final, as well as in construction oversight and occupancy planning.

Throughout his extensive career, Patrick has led planning and preconstruction efforts for a wide array of projects across the healthcare, commercial, industrial, assisted living, and multi-family sectors. Notable projects under his leadership include a $540 million hospital expansion and renovation, a $17S million replacement hospital, a $61 million private school expansion and renovation, a $36 million manufacturing facility expansion, an $82 million resort hotel and conference center, and a $20 million university dining hall. His experience with multi-family projects is particularly comprehensive, covering market rate, labor force, affordable, 4% and 9% tax credit, and HUD product types across Texas. Patrick has overseen projects such as a $76 million 5-story apartment complex atop a 3-story cast in place podium, a $38 million apartment wrap with precast garage, and a $49 million multi-building garden-style walk-up apartment complex. Having spent 13 years in the Texas market, Patrick’s deep-rooted knowledge encompasses all aspects of preconstruction, including design assist, the evaluation of unit efficiencies, value engineering, and the cultivation of subcontractor relationships. His client-focused approach guarantees meticulous and accurate pricing, ensuring project success from the outset.
